Activation Codes

To use ILook PI and IVault, you will need to download and activate the product. We will discuss the process that you will follow here.

Step 1 – First Email

Once you order with Perlustro has been approved, you will be sent a confirmation email giving you links to download your product. The link is a general one that shows you all the downloads that are available to you. The link will be http://www.perlustro.com/downloads.

Follow this link and download your IVault or ILook PI installation.

Step 2 – Installing your product

IVault

Double-click your installation file and follow the installation instructions. These instructions are the same as any regular installation. Once you have finished the install, proceed to the Activation step.

ILook PI

BEFORE installing ILook PI, you must make sure that your computer is ready. This includes installing Microsoft SQL Server and adjustments that need to be made to windows setup. To prevent installation problems and problems that will involve taking Microsoft SQL Server off and re-installing it, you must follow these instructions. They can be found at www.perlustro.com/resources/installation-overview.

Once your target machine is setup, you may proceed to install the ILook PI application.

Double-click your installation file and follow the instructions. Choose the default location for installation, and enter your Passware code when prompted. You will find this in the first email we sent to you after the order confirmation (the email that contained the download link). You can also find this code on the license page (www.perlustro.com/licenses), alongside the license for ILook PI.

Once you have completed both parts of the installation (first Passware tools, then ILook PI) you can proceed to the Activation step

Step 3 – Activating your product

Once your product is successfully installed, it must now be activated.

Double-click the icon that was installed on your desktop. This will either be called “IVault” or “ILook PI”. The first screen you will see will be the activation screen.

The Site Code and MID that is displayed on the page will need to be sent to Perlustro so that you can receive an Activation code. This process is achieved via the license management page on the website.

Visit www.perlustro.com/licenses and login using the credentials you used or received when you placed your order.

If you have purchased more than one license for the product you are activating, ensure you choose to activate a license with the options you desire on this computer. For instance, if you purchased two licenses for ILook PI, one with 3 options, and the other with no options, you must decide now which license you wish to put onto your target machine.

IVault does not have options, so you may choose any IVault license if you have purchased more than one.

Click “enter codes” on the license to activate and fill in the following details.

Enter the details of the user who will be using the computer. This will be your record for keeping track of license usage. The machine location is also for your use.

To obtain the Machine Name, please run the command ‘echo %USERDOMAIN’ from a Command Prompt.

The Machine ID and the Site ID will come from the activation screen (MID and Site Code).

Once you have entered all the required details, click the ‘Save’ button. You may now close the activation screen by clicking ‘Cancel’ or by clicking the red X

Your activation request has now been submitted and will be processed by Perlustro. We aim to process all requests within 12 hours. Once your request has been activated, you will automatically receive an email containing your activation code. The website will also be updated, and your code will be visible there also.

If you visit the website to retrieve the code (www.perlustro.com/licenses), you will see that the line has changed. Your license will look like this:

If you click the download link, you will receive a text file containing the key information regarding this license

Start the application that produced this license activation and check that the MID and Site Codes still appear as listed on the website. If they do not, some key part of your machine is likely to have changed, and invalidated your activation. Please contact us at support@perlustro.com.

Copy and paste the activation code into the Activation Code text box and click “Continue” to start the application.
