Perlustro Selects Microsoft SQL Server to Power New World Class Forensic, Analysis and E-Discovery Tools
Edmond, OK – August 4, 2008 – Perlustro, L.P. today announced its adoption of Microsoft SQL Server’s no core limit 64-bit database engine for use in its next generation suite of forensic, analysis and e-discovery tools, which will be released later this summer. The new products have been designed to address the limits of current solutions as well as system hardware RAM limitations, which are the most challenging problems facing forensic professionals.
Perlustro is a Gold Certified Microsoft Independent Software Vendor and Partner.
“This new product was developed in direct response to customer input regarding the need for secure, fast and efficient analysis for almost limitless volumes of information,” said Perlustro President, Elliot Spencer, head of computer forensics at the British Government’s Serious Fraud Office, until June of 2006. “The new products and the related tools will allow forensic professionals to integrate solutions and algorithms for use in digital examinations which could never before be imagined, much less executed. Our new forensic and E-Discovery tools will meet – and exceed – our customers’ needs today and into the foreseeable future.”
Never before available to the private sector, the tools produced by Perlustro – in use all over the world for over 10 years, but only to select groups of government, military and law enforcement officials – will now be available to all forensics professionals, both commercial as well as government. The new product line will also include tools to meet E-discovery and other digital investigative needs at a more economical and effective level than those currently available in the marketplace.
Microsoft General Manager Bill Forsyth said, “We’re pleased that Perlustro has selected SQL Server as the core foundation of its e-forensic software. Running on SQL Server 2008, you will be able to consume your data within custom applications developed using Microsoft .NET and Visual Studio such as ILookIX and do so with confidence and in a cost effective manner. SQL Server delivers a trusted, productive, and intelligent data platform for all your data needs.”
Perlustro, L.P. is the trusted provider of forensic software to governments, military and law enforcement agencies around the world. The company’s current forensic suite consists of ILook and IXimager, which are widely considered the most innovative tools for forensic imaging and analysis. These tools are currently used by tens of thousands of end users in more than 60 countries for investigations involving terrorism, white collar crimes, child pornography and many other crimes.
